The cold air twirled around the (skin colored) boy as he walked down his long ass driveway. Why the hell did he own a house all the way in the middle of the woods again? Oh yeah. His mother was obsessed with nature and couldn't stand being in the loud city. Nature was loud enough, he thought. The birds that chirp away along with the crickets.

He didn't mind living out this way but he just wished his mother would let him have that damn car that was officially his since his eighteenth birthday to drive places. But no. The car was used and ended up in an accident. No one was hurt, thankfully, but that meant his car was in the shop and he had to continue walking. He hated that no one asked permission to use his car and it already was screwed over. He didn't think he would be able to drive it now.

(F/n) felt a chill go down his spine as he walked still. His hands shakily brought his hood further down his face and tightened his scarf around his nose and mouth. He didn't have any gloves so he instantly shoved them in his coat pockets. If he didn't know better, right now he was walking through a blizzard. Old man winter must be upset over something. A small smile played at his hidden lips as he chuckled. Little did (f/n) know, old man Winter wasn't the one upset.

Jack Frost paced around a frozen pond, a scowl placed on his usually smiling face. His feelings were causing the small blizzard in this country area. He didn't think anyone lived near by so he figured letting some steam go, in case, his snowy storm, would help as he angrily kicked many pebbles onto the frozen water.

The Easter Bunny had gotten to him again. Though he knew Jack is a guardian just as much as he is, they still didn't get along. He had shared his memories with the Tooth Fairy of his little sister. He wondered how she had done in her life but Tooth wouldn't let him see. She believe he wasn't ready yet. That surprised him slightly but said he understood. Then Bunny had to come up and poke at him, saying things about what he did with his sister. He poked a bit too much and crossed a line when he said something.

Bunny wasn't really thinking as he said, “What kind of brother leaves his little sister to watch him fall and basically die right in front of him?” He only was trying to rile Jack up, and he succeeded, but in the opposite way he had thought.

Jack gripped his staff and leapt in the air, about to shoot some frost at Bunny when Mr. Clause butt in. The young boy glared at the other guardian, ignoring the lecture that the big man was saying. He huffed and turned around, flying away to a place he knew was vacant. Or at least he thought it was.

The snow kept growing inch by inch around him. It didn't bother him since he easily was able to walk on the top of it without falling in. A hand of his whipped up and brushed some of his pure silver-white hair before he yelled and slammed his staff on to the ice. The powerful gust that came from the staff sent a rush of frost over the area immediately and could knock anything standing over.

(F/n) was pushing against the wind as he continued to his house. Man, he forgot how long the driveway was. Suddenly, he felt a spark zap up his spine as a tremendous cold swept over him. A strong gust knocked him over into the tall snow. Once that ripple of gust passed, he noticed the frost that came after it. He panicked and turned over to protect his skin just in time for the frost to pass over him, chilling his entire backside to the bone.

The (h/c) haired boy shivered, moving a few muscles to sit up and look around. When his eyes opened, he noticed that the storm instantly settled down to a white sheet of foggy snow around him. He was relieved, but confused. Where had such a gust come from? He never saw frost quickly following after it either, and it was cold, dammit!

He stood up quickly to keep his blood pumping. His (e/c) irises looked around, scanning the surroundings for anything unusual. All he saw was the small pond and...was that a figure? His eyes squinted to see if he was really seeing someone or if his eyes were playing tricks since he was exhausted. He blinked a few times and the figure disappeared. His confusion soon turned to fear.

(F/n) hastily picked his pace back up and slowly treaded through the thick layers of snow. A buzzing sensation in his pocket made him halt temporarily. He scooped out his phone and saw he had a text message. Squinting his eyes again, he cursed his forgetful mind. He hated not having his glasses with him.

“Hey dear, since the driveway is filled to the brink with snow, I’m going to stay over at a friends house.” He sighed as his mother notified him. He was happy to at least have the house to himself. He noticed more words and read the rest of her message. “It's odd though. The rest of the town hasn't been touched with any snow, just a light blanket of frost. I wonder why it's our place that got packed with snow. Are you okay? I know that it's your usual time walking up to the house. You aren't getting frost bite, are you?”

(F/n) smiled and chuckled at her worry. He typed back with his very cold finger a small reply. “I'm fine mom, and okay. So I will see you when the snow clears, right? And it is odd. No frost bite, but something weird happened. You don't need to worry though. I’m in the house now.” The small lie wouldn't be harmful. He pressed the send button on his touch screen and continued walking as he pocketed it and continued walking home, the thought of the figure partially forgotten.

Several minutes later before actually seeing the house in view, he got a reply back. “That's good to know! Warm up against the fireplace, please dear. And don't forget to eat. If the snow hasn't melted by tomorrow or Sunday, that means you have the house to yourself. Don't forget to walk the dog around a bit and feed him. I love you, (f/n)!”

The same smile was present as he sent a quick, “Yes Mom, I love you, too.” before taking the few steps that let him see his house. He sighed with some relief.

“Why did you lie about being in the house when you aren't in it?” The voice came out of nowhere, causing (f/n) to jump and look around, scared again. He didn't see anyone and shook his head, believe his mind was playing with him again. “Hey... Can you hear me?” (F/n) paled and ran to his house.

There was a small layer of snow on the porch, but that didn't stop him from taking his keys and shoving them in to open the door and slam it shut, locking it. (F/n) panted, leaning against the door, eyes wide with fright. He kicked off his boots and tore off his scarf with his coat tossed behind it as he went to the living room window and peeking out of it to see if he could see anyone. Still no one.

When he believe no one was there to harm him, he sighed with a great amount of relief and turned around, only to be tackled by a beautiful gray-white husky to the ground.

“Oh god, Bogardus!” He laughed as the dog licked his face then got off, chasing his tail around in a sign saying he wanted to go out and play in the snow. (F/n) sat up, chuckling still as he shook his head. That dog really did love the snow. He wanted to learn why. When he stood up, he went through the house to the back patio door and opened it up enough for the dog to run through and free. “Don't wander off, ya hear!” He shouted to the dog. Bogardus only barked as he pranced and pounced around, rolling in the snow.

(F/n) smiled and laugh, closing the door so the cold wouldn't get in. He didn't realize that someone else slipped into the house quickly with the chance he was given.

Jack felt terrible when he saw this boy get up out of the snow and wandered home with a quick pace. He looked around the home that he entered, without permission, but he didn't want to spook the other again so he kept quiet. The back patio was connected to the dinning room and kitchen, which had light brown wooden floors coated with a sleek shine. Jack had to hover over the table and chairs in order not to hit them as he looked around.

The kitchen to his left was small but enough for two or three to move around in. It had all the components it needed. A long set of counters and cabinets filled with the needed utensils to eat, a dishwasher under one counter, the sink on top of another, then the stove and oven under the microwave. The refrigerator stood against the only wall that had two counter tops. Some other electrical things were placed around there as well. A blender, toaster, waffle iron, and something else. His blue eyes scanned the dinning room as well before he floated further into the house.

A living room came to his right while a set of stairs were on his left. The start of the stairs were in front of another doorway that went into this sort of den, or computer room. The den held two computer desktops and an open laptop. Shelves were stacked with discs for games and flash drives with important documents. He glanced at the living room and saw (f/n) relaxing on the big couch that faced the TV. There were two love seats, one partially in front of the doorway to the living room and the other in front of the fireplace. He wondered why the boy wasn't on that one instead to warm up. He had noticed his fingers were a little blue on the walk to this house.

Guilt was brought back again as he felt stupid to think that no one was nearby while he was having a temper tantrum like a little kid. He wanted to apologize for causing him to trek through all that snow and gain some frost bite. Jack gazed at the boy's hands again and saw they were still a little blue. “You should do something about your hands before they get worse.” He said before he could stop himself.

(F/n) jumped again and fell off the couch. Jack couldn't help but laugh a little. “W-who's there?!” The (nationality) boy quickly stood up, looking around the room for the source of Jack's voice. The winter spirit thought that was very interesting. This boy could hear him but not see him. He hummed. “I know you're there! So speak!”

“Okay okay, just calm down.” (F/n) soon settled his eyes on Jack, but still couldn't see him. “I'm taking it you can hear me but can't see me.”

“It... It seems so.” (F/n) slowly sat back down on the love seat in front of the fireplace, keeping his eyes in front of him where he knew the voice was. “Who... Who are you? Why can't I see you?”

“Well, I’m not sure why you can't see me or why it is you can hear me.” Jack let himself land on the floor and noticed that the boy glanced at the floor. He must be able to see me foot prints on the floor since I’m naturally cold, Jack thought. “Usually people that believe in me are able to see and hear me. You're a new sort though. I’ve never met someone who could hear me without me knowing if you believe in me.”

Jack took a few steps forward, leapt over the coffee table and hovered again in front of the (h/c) haired boy. (F/c) knitted his brows together in confusion. “What do you mean?”

“Well, my name's Jack Frost.” The boy jumped again since he was closer. Jack smirked. “You're easy to make jump, aren't you?”

“No.” (F/n) blushed slightly as he looked towards the TV again. “Wait.” He instantly looked back at Jack, where he could hear him. “Did you just say you were Jack Frost?” The spirit hummed an, 'Mhm.' and the boy just stared. He started laughing. “Oh my god!”

Jack cocked his head as he put his staff down so he could lean his head on his hands as he body switched to a 'laying in the air' look. “What's so funny?”

“Oh, nothing it's just...” He laughed some more, wiping away a small tear that appeared. “Out of all my eighteen years, I’ve never believed in any of you. You're part of the Santa, Easter Bunny, Sandman, and Tooth Fairy group, right?” Jack hummed a yes and (f/n) shook his head. “I seriously never believed in any of you and here you are. I can hear you clear as day, and you're saying I shouldn't unless I believe you.”

“Well, you must believe in me a little bit then if you can hear me.” (F/n) went silent as he thought about it. Jack stared, waiting for a response, soon sighing. “So what's your name? I gave you mine and I’d like to know yours.”

“Oh, uh, it's (f/n). (F/n) (l/n).” He felt so awkward talking to the air, but he knew that Jack was really there. He felt it. The thought of believe a little bit of him made him wonder something. “You know, I jokingly thought about old man Winter being upset since the blizzard came so suddenly. I could feel the anger and sadness in the snowy wind.”

Jack blinked. “You could...feel that?”

(F/n) nodded. “I guess it's because at the time I was feeling a little angry myself, but I was confused about the sadness.”

“Yeah...” He didn't know that his powers could also make others see his feelings. It made sense with anger, but any other emotion? He didn't know that. “I'm... Sorry about the gust of wind that knocked you over.” He apologized sincerely. “You should really get you hands warmed up before you can't feel anything.” He went to touch (f/n) but retracted his hand. What was going through his head already? Wanting to make interaction with someone he just met and probably hurt unknowingly. He wasn't ever sure if (f/n) could feel him. Hear him, yeah, that was obvious, but anything else?

“It's okay.” (F/n) smiled as he stood from the seat. “They're already warming up and I have feeling in them.” He walked around and out of the room towards the stairs. “And that was you? Man, you have some power behind that. I was just lucky to shield my skin in time from the frost that followed after the gust.” He ascended the steps.

Jack nodded, smiling himself. “Where ya going?” He asked, floating after him.

“To my room. I need my glasses. Can barely see anything without them.” He reached his door, which was in the left hall, first door on the right, and opened it. “You can come in and observe my room, if you aren't already.”

Jack nodded again and decided to walk into the room this time. His feet padded into the room, the feeling of carpet meeting his toes instantly. He looked down and saw the light blue carpet. It was really soft. He looked up and scanned the room. There was a long twin sized bed with blue covers on it and numerous pillows. Above the bed on the walls, shelves held action figures, some books, and picture frames of some people. Before he floated up to inspect the pictures, he looked to his right to see the rest of the room. There was a dresser with a tall, wide mirror attached to it in the far corner, a computer desk right next to it with a desktop computer. The tower was on the floor, closer to the dresser, and beside the screen was a laptop, which was open already and showing a document set up, already in use. (F/n) was over there, shuffling through some things, looking for his glasses. As Jack turned some more to finish scoping out the room, he noticed a door next to the desk. He wondered if it was the closet, but figured he'd check later. On the last wall was a flat screen TV. It was dusty, barely used if only for games, since he noticed the different stations on top of the desk under the TV. He turned around and saw another door behind (f/n)'s bedroom door. He was confused and closed the one door to open the other. That was the closet. He turned around to the other door near the desk and ventured over there to open it. A bathroom.

(F/n) found his glasses, upper rimmed glasses that were a shade of red on the rims. He glanced at his opening and closing doors. A fascination for his new friend, were they friends?, increasing. “That's the bathroom. We have our own personal bathrooms upstairs but the ones downstairs are shared.” Jack looked at him and closed the door again. “It's so weird seeing the door open with nothing there, though I know you're the one doing it.”

“I wish you could see me too.” Jack chuckled, then floated over to the pictures. “Who are the people in these pictures?” He pointed at one with a woman and (f/n). There was a few other people in it, including the dog. Oh yeah. Bogardus. “Before you answer that, you might want to bring your dog back in.”

“Oh shit!” (F/n) ran down the steps to get his dog. Jack only watched him, a smile on his face. This (f/n) was really interesting, he figured. Maybe he would come here more often just to learn more about him or just when he's bored. “Bogardus, I’m so sorry!” He heard (f/n) say to the dog. He chuckled and waited, sitting on the blue bed that reminded him of the outside with snow on the ground. The boy soon returned to his room. “He's laying in front of the fireplace, giving me the cold shoulder.”

“I bet that is somewhat literally.” Jack tried to joke, but (f/n)'s face was serious as he shook his head. “Sorry.” He instantly apologized. He wasn't used to apologizing so much to one person. 'So much.' He only said it twice.

“It's alright.” (F/n) went over to his bed and stared at his pictures. “That one,” he pointed at the one with a lot of people, “has my family and myself in it with my dog.” Jack moved as (f/n) stepped on his bed to get a better view and say who is who. Jack hovered next to him, looking at the picture. “The woman beside me is my mom.” He pointed to a brown haired woman with a big smile as she hugged (f/n) close to her. He smiled. “The man behind her is my recently passed father.” Jack frowned, about to say 'sorry' again, but the (h/c) haired boy continued speaking before he could. “And these people over here are my siblings.” He pointed to the two boys behind himself, one ruffling his hair as the other hugged the father, and two girls, one girl smiling as she bent down to hug (f/n) as well and the other on her phone, back turned slightly with the expressionless attitude showing. “The one on the cell phone was diagnosed with brain cancer this May. She changed a little since this picture was taken because of that. And the one ruffling my hair moved away to Denmark because something happened to him and he couldn't stay here any longer. The one hugging my dad is in a hospital because the loss of our dad affected him greatly. He was the oldest song and really close to Dad, so it made sense. My other sister is the only one still here. She only visits us now, but she's the one that most of the other stuff belongs to.”

Jack nodded, feeling sad as he learned just that much from (f/n). “I'm sorry about your father...and some of your siblings.” (F/n) only shrugged.

“It's life. That's how it goes.” He simply stated as he got down on the floor and went over to his desk. “I've accepted it.” He was putting up a brave front, but Jack could tell he didn't fully accept everything yet.

“If you ever need to talk and I’m around, I’ll listen.”

(F/n) stopped fiddling with his desktop, a little surprised at hearing those words. He smiled as tears threatened him by pricking behind his eyes. He didn't say anything until a few minutes passed. “Thank you.” He whispered. And that's all they said for the rest of the evening.

Jack stayed around to keep an eye on (f/n) and (f/n) went to work on his college things. He would nearly forget Jack is there, but then the other boy would make some noise or do something that reminded him that he wasn't alone. (F/n) smiled at that. He hated being alone. Soon enough, Jack turned the TV on and was able to set up the Wii system without any help. Since he was around the world a lot and played with kids a lot, he knew how to handles some of these things. He just had to be careful that his frost would move onto the controllers. (F/n) heard the music and sound effects for Mario Kart and his hand twitched. That was his favorite game to play, but he needed to finish his homework so he didn't worry about it over the weekend. After fifteen minutes of hearing Jack's grumbling and shouting, his body grew agitated with want. He jumped when a second Wii remote appeared in front of him.

“Wanna join me?” (F/n) stared at the remote, not moving to take it. “Come on, I can see that you want to play, too. Why don't ya?” Jack kept smiling, though he know (f/n) couldn't see it. It increased when the other boy grabbed the remote, stood up from the computer chair and sat down on the floor with a thump, ready to play. He laughed. “I knew you'd join me.”

“I won't fall for any more temptations from here on out.” (F/n) claimed. Jack only grinned, wondering if that was going to be true. He should test that out in the future. He pressed a game of Mario Kart to play with the two of them, and picked Rosalie to play as. (F/n) picked Peach. “This will be an interesting race.” The boy commented, a smirk on his face.

Jack's heart thumped quickly as he also smirked. “We should make a bet on what happens if who wins.”

The (nationality) boy thought about it and nodded. “Alright. What would you like if you win?”

“You will have to spend all the weekends with me outside for two months. No complaints either.”

A laugh. “And if I win, you'll have to respect me when I want or don't want to do anything with you until I get my homework or something else done.”

“Deal.” Jack laughed as well. (F/n) held his left hand towards Jack and the spirit blinked. He wasn't sure if he was tangible to (f/n) since he doesn't entirely believe in him, but slowly reached over and took his hand. He felt (f/n) grip his hand and shake it without a problem. His eyes widened. “Wow.”

“What?” (F/n) asked, cocking his head to the side to hear Jack.

“Nothing, it's just... I wasn't sure if you'd be able to feel me.” Jack spoke honestly.

“Well, I did.” The other stated. “And you're hands a frickin' cold!” Jack laughed and saw (f/n) smile. His heart thumped a second time, but went unnoticed again. “Come on, let's start this game!” Jack nodded and pressed the accept button for the worst made set of courses to drive.

~

The frost spirit groaned, laying on the floor in defeat. (F/n) only grinned as he got up and went back to his homework that was almost finished. “Not fair!” Jack shouted. “You must have cheated! I know that the character I chose is the best at races with her constant boosts!”

“Well I’ve been playing longer and have learned all the tricks to win with Peach.” (F/n) laughed then fell silent in concentration.

Jack grumbled silently as he flew over to the bed and faced the wall, back to (f/n). His face was slightly red because at times in the race, they would bump their shoulders against each other, trying to distract the other. “Still think you cheated.” The other boy only chuckled.

“If I finish my homework before the weekends start, that means I can get out into the snow and play.” Jack's ear twitched when he heard the computer chair creak. “That will be fun. Bogardus would love to play outside as well.” A pouting frown appeared on Jack's face. “And I bet a winter spirit I know would like a good game of snowball fights.” The grin on Jack's face couldn't be held back.

The spirit leapt over to (f/n) and spun the chair around to face him and hug him. The (e/c) eyed boy was shocked at the sudden movements and feelings but calmed down and slowly wrapped his arms around the air that he could feel. He knew it wasn't air. He closed his eyes as he tried to imagine what Jack looked like. He sounded like a boy around his age, if not younger. He knew the spirit was older than what he probably looked because he's an immortal being. Jack squeezed back, happy to feel (f/n) hugging him.

“Thank you, (f/n).”

(E/c) irises opened wide as a blush consumed his face. He released Jack and turned back around. “I-I'm almost finished and I’ll be making dinner then going to bed.” He stated.

Jack continued smiling, throwing his staff over his shoulders so his arms could curl around them as he held onto it that way. “Okay. I’ll be staying until dinner then.” (F/n) nodded and Jack went back to playing the game by himself.

(F/n) felt his chest as his heart beat slowed down from its fast pace. He tried to calm his blushing face as well as he picked up the pencil again and continued working. Never has he heard such sincere words and reacted that way. He was confused. Could he be liking Jack already though he's only known him roughly a day? He sighed through his nose. He would just need to calm down and take this slowly. Take what slowly? Oh god, he was starting to get a head rush.

The silver haired boy would glance at the other often as he played the game. He knew (f/n) was almost done with whatever homework he had so he was being patient. After a few minutes had passed, the boy got up from his desk and entered the bathroom. Jack watched him go and continued with the game, face turning crimson as he thought of his friend's backside. (F/n) soon came back out, wiping some of the drops of water on his jeans.

“Jack?” The spirit jumped slightly as he heard his name from (f/n). He knew that he said it before, but he hasn't said it much. He hummed. “Are we friends?”

Jack had to pause the game in order to look at the boy with surprised eyes. Why was he asking this? Wasn't it obvious that they got along well and were comfortable with each other in the room? He thought the 'friends' title was already there. “Of course we are.” The boy nodded as he say in his chair again. Jack was hesitant to ask, but did. “Why do you ask? Isn't it...obvious?”

(F/n) stopped scratching the graphite pencil against his paper. He was silent and felt Jack's stare though he couldn't see him. “I... I’m not that popular or social, so I have very few friends. Most of them aren't really close. I only have one friend close enough like a sister.” He smiled as he thought of Clarice. She was an interesting friend but loved her all the same as a sister.

Jack frowned. “Well,” his frown turned upside down into a bright smile, “you have two good friends now!”

(F/n) nodded slowly then smiled, chuckling at Jack's enthusiasm. “Yeah. Yeah I do.” He went back to work for the last time and Jack let him be. Half an hour later, he was done and got out of the chair, stretched, then walked downstairs.

Blue eyes followed him before pausing the game to physically follow him downstairs. When he saw him setting up dinner for himself, he figured he should leave. “Hey, (f/n).” The boy hummed, already used to hearing Jack's voice around him. “I'm going to head out, okay?”

He nodded before registering what he said. Jack had left with a sad smile. As soon as he closed the door, (f/n) turned around. “Jack, wait!” He didn't hear the boy and frowned. “Don't leave...” He hated feeling alone...

Bogardus whined when he sensed his master feeling sad. (F/n) smiled down at his dog and finished making his dinner before filling the dog bowl with food and putting fresh water that wasn't nearly frozen in the other bowl. He hoped that Jack would come and visit like he hinted he wanted to in the bet. He sat at the table and bowed his head, saying a grace and thank you. His first thanks for food since he was three.

~

A soft thud noise woke (f/n) up in the morning. The boy groaned and rolled over, snuggling into his sheets. Another thud noise came from his window and went ignored. Suddenly, numerous thuds kept sounding against his window, causing him to jump and fall out of bed. He heard a laughing snicker dulled from his window. He groaned again, but with a small smile, and went over to open his window that was now covered in snow.

“Morning (f/n)!” Jack's voice said happily as he entered the house.

“Good morning Jack.” The other yawned and scratched his head. “Thanks for being my alarm clock.”

“No prob.” Jack sat on his staff as he watched (f/n) walk around his room to get dressed for the day. “So, are you going to come out and play?”

“Maybe.” (F/n) shrugged. “It's a bit too early right now, Jack. As me later when I’ve woken up some more.” He pulled off his night shirt and Jack's face instantly went red as he turned around to give him privacy. What was he doing? Getting embarrassed by watching another boy, a boy, the same gender, get undressed to get some other clothes on. Why was he getting embarrassed? He shouldn't feel that way. They were both guys. It was fine. Right? “And I need to eat breakfast before I do anything else, anyway. Bogardus would love to play with you though. If he's able to see you.”

“He's able to see me.” He turned back around but his face only flared up more. Jack didn't say anything though to hint at his face being red. This was when he was glad that (f/n) couldn't see him. “I can play fetch with him, too, since I have a staff.”

“You have a staff?” (F/n) looked towards him as best he could. He shirt that he picked to wear was a normal one, but it had a snowflake picture on it. Jack smiled. “I didn't know that.”

“Yeah, I had it with me ever since I turned into an immortal. Way before I became a guardian.” He stepped off his staff and stood on the floor, holding his staff behind his head.

“Guardian?” (F/n) was now taking his pants off along with his boxers. Jack instantly turned around again, face ablaze.

“Yeah. The other's that you mentioned yesterday are also guardians. And don't ask what we do, I’ll explain it now.” The mortal boy chuckled, nodding as he continued to dress himself. “The guardians are basically created to keep an eye on the kids around the world, to feed their imagination basically. Each guardian is created with a specific gift like...thing. A special trait. I don't really remember the other's, but mine is the gift of fun and joy.”

“That fits you.” Jack's face still felt warm as he smiled more. “I'm going down now. Explain on the way.”

He continued. “We each have our own home land that's separate from this world. I was born here on Earth, which I assume the others were too, and so I have this planet as my home. Santa lives in the Pole, Bunny lives in this whole underground world I didn't know exist, Tooth lives in a place where you need wings or the ability to fly to move around easily. It's in the mountains, very fun place to be.”

“Does Tooth have all our baby teeth?”

“She is the Tooth Fairy.” Jack chuckled at the silly question. I went and visited her last night and asked about your teeth. She flipped out saying how your teeth were just as good as mine. White and taken well care of.”

“Mom would have complained if I didn't.” They chuckled. “So, she has your baby teeth too?”

“Yep.” They reached the kitchen and Bogardus was already waiting by the door to go outside. “I'm going to let him out and play a bit while you eat.”

“Okay.” (F/n) listened to the patio door opening and closing with the dog running outside. He made a bowl of cereal and went over to the door to watch his dog run around. Pushing his glasses up his nose, his eyes saw the staff that Jack must have been talking about. He hummed in question, wondering why he could see it now but not Jack himself. He sighed, shrugging to himself as he sat at the table and continued eating, frequently looking up to laugh at his dog running around and rolling on the snow. He still saw the staff, but not Jack. His eyes saddened and looked away to finish his breakfast.

After a few minutes, Jack came back in. “We're back!” He announced. (F/n) was sitting in the living room again, watching TV. Jack chuckled as the dog rushed over and instantly jumped onto the couch, licking (f/n)'s face.

“Agh! No! Down! You're covered in snow!” He laughed, gently pushing the dog down. Bogardus, panting and wagging his tail, grinned in a curious way towards his owner. (F/n) cocked his head to the side. “Why are you grinning? Do you know something I don't?” He smiled as his dog went down, ready to play. “Oh, that just won't do. I must know what you know!” He went on the ground moved the coffee table so he could play with Bogardus. The dog barked at him, starting to rough house with (f/n). Jack watched with a smile, entertained. “Tell me! Tell me Borgardus!” The dog just kept barking.

“You awake enough to go outside now?” Jack asked, really wanted to play outside in the snow with him.

(F/n) shook his head. “I know I promised to go outside, but I think it would be best if I stayed in.” Jack frowned. “I nearly got frost bite yesterday and I don't want to get it again today. Maybe next weekend, okay?”

Jack nodded but kicked the air. “You know, I’m not going to be in the area much longer.” (F/n) instantly stopped playing with his dog to look at Jack. “I have other places that I need to look over. You know, snow days and such. Those are my doing.” He chuckled. “So the next time you get a snow day-”

“I'll thank you.” (F/n) stood up and Jack stared at him. He felt a knot in his throat, or was it a frog? It was constricted. He couldn't speak as he saw (f/n)'s sad face. “I understand. So... When will you be leaving this town?”

“Next weekend.” (F/n) nodded, a small, sad smile on his face. “I'll come again as much I can. I promise.” Jack went over to (f/n) and embraced him. The (nationality) boy didn't hesitate to hug him back. Jack smiled. “I promise.”

“Okay.” They released each other. “I'll be busy with college and other work during the week, so I won't have time to hang out.”

“That's okay. We always have the weekends. And I can visit whenever I’m close by.” His friend nodded, still with a sad smile. He frowned. “I'm not going to leave permanently. You'll see me next year.”

“No I won't.” Jack was going to protest but was silenced by what (f/n) said next. “Because I can't even see you.” Jack felt like he had a slap on his face when he remembered that. (F/n) was only able to look at him because he was good at guessing where he was by the sound of his voice. He bit his lip. “Who knows though? Maybe I could start seeing you by next year.” He tried to laugh.

Jack hugged him again, squeezing him as he felt this emotion, an emotion he wasn't sure about but it felt like his heart was breaking by seeing his friend like this. “I would be happy if you did start seeing me.” He smiled again. “That means you believe in me enough to see me.” (F/n) Hugged back, nuzzling his head in the crook of Jack's neck of that he could feel. Jack shivered slightly, not used to that. “So, let's get out of this house and play for a few minutes. I promise I won't let you get frost bite.”

They released each other and (f/n) nodded with a sincere smile. “Okay.”

~

The week went by too fast for Jack. He was there for his friend when he needed an ear to listen. He was able to unoffically meet (f/n)'s mother, but it just went a bit down hill. She had gotten news that his brother that was admitted to a hospital tried to commit suicide. Jack's throat felt sore as he wanted to cry for (f/n) since no tears came. Then his sister with that tumor was close to dying. She wouldn't make it for much longer. The brother in Denmark came back home at least, but instantly was in a troubling situation by the middle of the week. The sister that visited often and had a job lost her first child. Jack kept his eye on his friend and not once had he seen the boy cry. He knew that wasn't healthy, or at least not good.

He went to visit Claus, who listened intently. He knew who Jack was talking about and felt horrible for the situation the boy was going through. (F/n) was one of the good kids he had on the nice list and never went on the naughty list once. Jack was a bit surprised by that but then figured it made sense.

He later visited Tooth and asked if he could finally see his memories in his baby teeth. She still refused but he begged. Not able to stand him begging, she gave the canister over to him and delved into his memories.

Jack first visited the time when (f/n) saw his youngest sister born. The one with the brain tumor. He saw how happy he was and adorable with that childish smile. He had smiled wide to show that he had recently lost a tooth. The scene was sweet because everyone was there. Even his father. The man was smiling at the little girl and told the mother seriously, but with a joking tone that she was the last child they would have. They chuckled. Jack smiled.

Next he went to the memory of an older (f/n). Only ten years old, probably. He had some old glasses and carried his books to class only to have someone come up to him and pull a book out of his arms and make him drop them all and the sheets of homework he had finished the night before. Jack grew furious but knew he couldn't do anything. (F/n) was bullied! Why didn't he say anything?! The same day, he came home with a smile on his face, not saying a word of being bullied. What was wrong with him?!

Another scene change and it played through. Jack saw the fourteen year old (f/n) writing diligently on his desk. He peered over his shoulder and saw what it was. It was a suicide note. He freaked and tried to touch him to stop him. He couldn't do anything. (F/n) slowly stopped writing then turned abruptly when he heard a knock on the door. His parents came into his room with smiles on their faces he smiled a little back. They conversed slightly and then showed him the dog. (F/n)'s eyes widened in happiness as a wide smile spread on his face. He ran over to the puppy and began playing with it. Jack was relieved. He looked at the note and tried to pick it up or something. His hand brushed through it but it was able to flutter into the garbage next to the desk. Jack was pleased.

When he came back, Tooth gazed at him with concern. He shook his head, in a daze. “No wonder he speaks the way he does.”

“If we were able to help him, we would.” She stated. “We just don't know how to help him. You're the first that he's come in contact with.”

“So you're saying that you all have known about him since...?” Jack was surprised.

Tooth nodded. “We noticed it when he was wavering in between the list, never played egg hunt, had more nightmares than good dreams, and his teeth were showing sad memories. A lot of kids get like this. We wanted to at least help one and he was the closest to us then, but he grew up. He never once believed in us. He always believed his parents were the ones doing it and only had fun reading books or doing homework. His siblings tried to help, but... He turned them away.”

Jack listening, more sad now than anything. “I... I can't do anything now, but I’ll try. Next year.” Tooth wasn't so sure, but nodded. He thanked her and flew off.

He started this research right after he said his temporary goodbye to him. (F/n) looked so sad even though Jack kept promising he would be back. He hoped that (f/n) would believe in him enough to trust his words.

The year slowly turned by. His thoughts weren't all on (f/n) but he didn't forget him. When he could, he would go to the house and just watch the boy sleep peacefully. His dreams were nicer now, Sandman said. The nightmares lessened right after Jack left. The frost spirit was happy but still concerned.

One night during the year, near Easter, he opened the window to (f/n)'s room quietly and went in to see the boy. He kept the window open just in case he needed to quickly jet. Jack sat beside the bed, staring at the (h/c) (nationality) sleeping soundly. A small sincere smile showing on his lips. (F/n) looked so peaceful and handsome as he slept. The usual blush he's gotten used to now appeared. He had figured out one of the many reasons why he was so concerned about this boy. He came to care about him more than a friend. He didn't know if the boy felt a mutual feeling and doubted he did.

Jack leaned over the bed and slowly inched closer to (f/n)'s head to kiss his head. A mere inch away from him and the boy turned, mumbling something. Jack's eyes widened at what he heard. “Jack...come back. I miss you.” His face turned red as he smiled slightly more.

Finally kissing (f/n)'s head, he whispered, “I miss you too, (f/n).” and quickly left. (F/n) stirred in his sleep, smiling as his dream turned from one of saddening worry to a happy reunion with his friend he longed to see again.

Exactly a year later on the day they had first met, (f/n) walked up his long driveway again, grumbling about similar things as the year before. His car was being used by his younger sister, who miraculously survived the operation they did on her to save her life, so he had to walk. His cell phone vibrated in his pocket and he check it quickly. His brother was finally being let out of the hospital soon and he smiled. The one from Denmark had cleaned up his act ever since the event that happened last year and had a job now to support himself as he lived in town. (F/n) was happier with his life than he ever was before.

The event that had made everyone flip over a leaf quite quickly was when (f/n) phoned everyone and left them messages that hinted at him feeling so lonely and left out. He knew that everyone was busy, but when his younger sister heard that call, she instantly called him back and told him she was taking that operation she planned to in the first place so she could be there with him again because she missed him. His juvenile brother panicked as he called him, telling him not to do what their idiot brother did just for attention. Said idiot brother also called mentioning that he felt horrible that his own brother felt that way and was going to try and make a full recovery. It turns out, everyone felt lonely and they wanted the family back together.

(F/n) pocketed his cellphone again, and right as he did, this major blizzard picked up from nowhere. He growled, but then thought of something. He felt emotions in this blizzard. Anger, sadness, longing, happiness, and even...love? The only blizzard he has ever felt feelings in was the one last year created by...

“Jack!” (F/n) yelled into the blizzard with no hesitation. Some laughter echoed around him. A wide smile sprout on his face as he looked for the source, spotting a gray figure in the white fog of snow. He squinted, this time with his glasses on his face. He soon saw a young boy with a blue-gray hoodie with some darker pants with his feet bare swinging his staff around to make the blizzard go crazy. Could it be? He could finally see him? His smile increased as he started running through the blizzard towards the figure. “Jack!” He shouted again, jumping on the boy.

“Whoa!” He laughed, hugging (f/n) back, but then instantly reacted. “Wait, you can see me?” He pulled (f/n) off of him a little to look into his (e/c) irises that reflected him in a warm pool of happiness.

The boy nodded. “Yes! I can!” He was more than happy. Jack also shared this excitement. He leapt into the air and flew around, happily shouting loudly. He soon landed in front of (f/n) again and pulled him into the kiss. It was all so sudden, but (f/n) kissed back after a moment of surprise. When he finally closed his eyes, the blizzard soon stopped.

Jack pulled away, blushing but not one bit embarrassed. “I've missed you, (f/n).”

(F/n), blushing as well, hugged him again. “I missed you, too.” They kept hugging and (f/n) chuckled. “I wouldn't have known it was you making the blizzard if I didn't feel those emotions.”

“I specifically expressed my feelings through the blizzard.” Jack stated, kissing the top of (f/n)'s head. “Because I knew you would figure it out easily.” (F/n) smiled wide and leaned up to kiss Jack.

After a few more kisses, they walked back to the house, (f/n) sharing everything that had happened over the year, and Jack sharing his own findings. Though they were apart for an entire year, their bond grew.
This is my first Jack Frost x (Male) Reader and I'm not sure I got his personality right, but I had fun writing this story up. It's supposed to be a one shot but I feel if I wanted to continue on to a second part I could do it. My friend read it before I decided to post it up and said she liked it so I feel a bit more confident. So here it is! I hope you all enjoyed it!

Thank you malepuellamagi for suggesting a Jack Frost x Male!Reader story. I'm glad you did because now I feel I can do more than just Hetalia. :)

This story is ten pages of un-betaed work so there might be mistakes here and there. If the mistakes bother you, message me and I will try to fix it!
